is to give his life for them.(John 15) When you give something to a needy person, do not make a big

outside of their cup and plate, while the inside is full of what they have gotten by violence and
selfishness. They don't practice what they preach. They tie onto people's backs loads that are
heavy and hard to carry, yet they aren't willing even to lift a finger to help them carry those loads.
They do everything so that people see them. (M23) I repeat: it is much harder for a rich person to
enter the Kingdom of God than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle.(M19) The gate to life
is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it.(M7)

あたたかく やさしき声にて 子は育つ "Word of merciful God"
After spending forty days and nights without food, Jesus was hungry.
Then the Devil came to him and said, "If you are God's Son, order
these stones to turn into bread." But Jesus answered, "Man cannot
live on bread alone, but needs every word that God speaks."

Then the Devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of
the world in all their greatness. The Devil said, "All this I will give you if you kneel

Consider the lilies of the field and how they grow. They toil not,
neither do they spin.

the oven. And can any one of you by worrying add a moment to your years? (M6)

No man can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and
love the other or he will cling to the one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and Mammon.

Conscience be of much science.
悲しいことではあるが、完全に善なる存在になるのは不可能である。食物連鎖の
例を見ても、弱肉強食・自然淘汰の現実を見ても、明らかである。しかし、
叡智を傾けて行動すれば、弱肉強食などが、利己主義者の戯言に過ぎないことが
実証できるかもしれない。良心の徒が真の科学を自覚し、研究すればの話である。
(For a man of conscience be of much science.)
往々にして、科学だけが一人歩きして、良心が埋没してしまいがちなのが、人類
の歴史であった。釈迦や孔子、ソクラテス、キリストなどが、良心に従っての
勇気ある生き方を実践してみせたのだが、やはり、焼け石に水となって、却って
彼等の哲学・慈悲の教えが曲解悪用されて、今日の紛争の原因となっているのは、
泣くにも泣けない悲しい事実である。彼等ですら、無理なのだから、私達には
とても無理な話なのだろうか。

昨日は 明日の鏡なり 今日をさわかに つとめ過ごさむ
Yesterday is the mirror of tomorrow. Not a long day, but a good heart
rids work. A true worker will get what he needs.
やってみせ 言って聞かせて させてみせ ほめてみせねば 人成りがたし
有教無類、度断知成； 有意栽花花不成、無心挿柳柳成蔭
salt & light: You are like salt for all mankind. But if salt loses
its saltiness, there is no way to make it salty again. You are like
light for the whole world. Your light must shine before people, so
that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father

おのれのほっせざるところは 人にほどこすことなかれ
Treat your fellow man as you would have him treat you. For this
is the Law of the prophets.
誰に縁り 結ばれたりし 此の身をば また誰が為に ほどき供へむ
The Son of Man comes to serve, not to be served. Whoever among you

点燃身灯 浄焚心香 合掌供華 信実供養
身の灯明をともし、心の香を焚き、合掌の華を供へ、信実もて供養する
志士仁人,無求生以害人,有殺身以成仁。
飯疏食飲水,曲肱而枕之,在陋巷,樂在其中也.不義而富且貴,於我如浮雲。(述而)
不患人之不己知而患不知人也。不怨天、不尤人下学而上達。無伐善、無施労。
I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down his life for
his sheep.[M20]
千劫（せんごう）の 過去も未来の 萬年も 今日一息を 命と成せり
And can any one of you by worrying add a moment to your
years? Do not worry about tomorrow, it will have enough worries of
its own. There is no need to add to the troubles each day brings. (M 6)
諸悪莫作 衆善奉行 自淨其意 是諸仏教」 （法句経）

白日依山尽 黄河入海流 欲窮千里目 更上一層楼
栄養を 求むる者は 多けれど 供養の心 知るは少なし
Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell all you
have and give the money to the poor, and you will have riches
in heaven." When the young man heard this, he went away sad,
because he was very rich. Jesus then said to his disciples,"
I assure you: it will be very hard for rich people to enter the
Kingdom of heaven. I repeat: it is much harder for a rich person
to enter the Kingdom of God than for a camel to go through
the eye of a needle.” (M19)
No man can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and
love the other or he will cling to the one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and Mammon.
願はくばこの功徳をもって あまねく一切に及ぼし、我等と衆生と
皆ともに仏道を成ぜん
願以此功徳 普及於一切 我等與衆生 皆倶成仏道
Our Father makes his sun shine on bad and good people alike,
and gives rain to those who do good and to those who do evil.(M5)
I come not to destroy the laws or the prophets, but to fulfill them.
For I say unto you: Love your enemies, bless them who curse you
and pray for those who despise and persecute you.
For if you love only those who love you, what reward shall you have?

辧惑： 愛之欲其生、悪之欲其死、既欲其生、又欲其死、是惑也。「顔淵」
